This spring, we are thrilled to welcome four interns Seeking MORE with us. We are getting to know them through their writing and learning how they will Seek MORE this semester.
My name is Alabhya Prasad, and I am a freshman at Indiana University Indianapolis’s Kelley School of Business, pursuing a double major in marketing and business management and a minor in Spanish.

I was born in Hyderabad, India, and moved to the United States when I was one year old. Though I’ve lived in various parts of the U.S., I grew up in Muskego, Wisconsin. I’m a middle child with an older sister, a younger brother, and the daughter of hardworking immigrant parents. Growing up in a predominantly white community as a South Asian girl presented its challenges. Despite having a supportive circle that encouraged my academic, personal, and extracurricular pursuits, I often felt like an outsider because of how different I was from my peers. My parents, however, instilled in me a curiosity about my culture and the importance of diversity. Their efforts to expose me to the broader world—through frequent trips to India and visits to countries like Thailand, Mexico, and France—helped me appreciate the strength and beauty of diversity. I learned that being different is a gift, one that enriches the world. This belief is why I connect so deeply with MORE Magazine, which uplifts stories of individuals and communities who unapologetically embrace their individuality and diversity.
My parents encouraged me to pursue a wide range of interests growing up. I learned to play the alto saxophone and piano, participating in Ballet, Tap, and Bharatanatyam (a South Indian classical dance form), and nurtured a love for baking, traveling, and musical theater. These experiences shaped my confidence and creativity. At Indiana University Indianapolis, I’ve channeled this into leadership and community involvement. I’m a member of Swadesh (the Indian Students Association), the Kelley Marketing Organization, an officer for the Kelley Indianapolis Student Government, and the founder and chapter president of the IUI Future Business Leaders of America Collegiate Chapter. Through these roles, I’ve built connections, strengthened my leadership skills, and celebrated the opportunities that have come my way.
I first discovered MORE Magazine through a former intern and IUI student who introduced me to its founder, Arianna Cruz. Intrigued by the magazine’s mission to celebrate diverse minds, voices, and places, I was inspired to learn more about Arianna’s story and the work her team does. I saw MORE as an opportunity to join a community I’d long sought—one that values diversity and individuality. While I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from the internship, I was eager to grow personally and professionally through the experience.
To “Seek MORE” is to explore new possibilities, embrace diversity, and foster personal growth. This internship has allowed me to do just that. I’m grateful to Arianna for this opportunity, and I look forward to continuing to embody MORE’s values of inclusion, learning, and self-discovery this spring.
